Thermal profiling is the term used to describe the process of recording and interpreting the temperatures of products and air through a conveyorized heat treating process.

In the Food, Beverage and Pharmaceutical industry it is essential to know what temperatures your process is being run at. This is critical to measure product quality as we need to maintain the standards required by your customers.

Not all processes are equal. Each process has its own challenges in terms of space, duration and environment (steam, submersion in water or oil).

The risks to public health places the processing industry firmly under the public spotlight.  The effects of getting the cooking and freezing processes wrong can be disastrous for your business, as well as your customers.

The Datapaq® range of Thermal Profiling units and Thermal Barriers allow temperature Data Logging equipment to pass through the treatment ovens connected directly to your process.

This type of system is unique in its ability to maintain the operability of sophisticated recording and storage electronics at temperatures in excess of 1000°C.

The Datapaq® units also come with sophisticated software packages that allow you to set the desired parameters like actual ramp and soak times required to meet the desired specifications and on completion of test print out actual versus desired and showing deviation from required readings and duration of deviation.

There are many different packages available for different applications but as an example the Food Tracker® System, comprises of Insight™ software, a data logger, selection of protective thermal barriers and thermocouples, and offers an accurate and reliable means of measuring product and environmental temperatures, an essential requirement for HACCP data analysis and regulations and process validation.

All Thermal Profiling systems can include enhancements, such as humidity measurement, food tray and thermocouple jig, as well as the TM21 Radio Telemetry System for real time temperature monitoring.

Another use of the Datapaq® system is to use the information to optimize your process temperature. The most frequent food processing applications for Datapaq temperature profiling systems include:

  • Poultry Processing
  • Meat Processing
  • Seafood Processing
  • Baking
  • Pasteurization & Sterilization
